What this blog proposes to be क्या होगा इस ब्लॉग में?

This blog will, in due course of time, have photos, videos, contacts and other information about Village Pan and its resident/ non-resident people.

Pan is a small village, situated in Uttarakhand>Distt Almora>Tehsil Ranikhet. It is 5km from Dwarahat on two sides of Dwarahat-Chaukhutiya Road. The coordinates of Shivalaya in the middle of the two villages are: 29.48N, 79.25E.

Pan used to buzz with activity till some 30 years back. Migration started even before but the critical mass was lost in late years of 29th century. Now there are less than a dozen people living in the two villages that constitute Pan.

Though people have left, those who had spent a part of their life in Pan have memories of these calm, content times etched in their memories. Their children, who have not lived in the village but have been visiting it, have also developed some affinity towards their ancestral village. Then there are those who have not even visited the village: they too have a thread that binds them with the village- their longing to know their roots.

This blog is not an ambitious project. It will remain sober and quiet. Yet, it will showcase whatever is contributed by fellow villagers.
