When they cut pine trees in Pan village and then put the forest on fire... a memory of 50 years back

I recently wrote an article on RaagDelhi, a Hindi web magazine, about forest fires and their linkage to climate change.

As I was narrating to the Editor the story of how during my childhood, the pine forest above the Pan village was systematically denuded and torched, he prompted me to insert a box on this in the article.

People of my village, surrounding villages or villages elsewhere in Uttarakhand, who have witnessed similar things happening around them, will perhaps find a resonance in that experience.

The link to that article is here:  Forest fires
